Sony’s first PS4 Pro commercial looks to the past to sell the future

Sony has released its first PS4 Pro commercial, opting to go down a nostalgic 80s route and getting the similarly themed Zombies in Spaceland from CoD: Infinite Warfare along for the ride.

In what is a definite throwback to some of Sony’s old-school PlayStation advertising, the commercial goes big on style rather than showing much of what the PS4 Pro is capable of. Although we’re told the PS4 Pro is more powerful, the ad does nothing to sell how that will improve games. There’s also, bizarrely, no mention at all of 4K.

It’s nice to finally see Sony making some noise about the PS4 Pro, but hopefully it’ll do more in the coming weeks to point out the benefits the system has over the standard PS4.
