Sony has today released new information regarding LocoRoco Cocoreccho, an interactive PS3 screensaver based on the acclaimed LocoRoco franchise.

The aim of this simple LocoRoco experience is to collect the highest number of LocoRoco and lead them to the goal of the level. The player takes control using the Sixaxis tilt functionality to move screen features such as branches and platforms.

In order to wake the slumbering LocoRoco the player must call upon a butterfly which the player can then use to guide the LocoRoco to their goal.

Along the way to the stage goal three mini-games will provide the opportunity to multiply the number of LocoRoco, but nasty Moja are also on route trying to gobble up the loveable rolling creatures. Lose too many LocoRoco and the big boss BonMucha wakes and it’s game over.

All the action is presented in full 1080p resolution and a number of online leaderboards are included to add some replay value. Players can compete for the best total score and for the fastest time for completing the stage.

Expect an announcement regarding a European release date shortly.
