Sony is in the process of re-evaluating how it operates PlayStation Plus, according to a survey emailed to some PlayStation users.
The survey asks participants to detail their perfect PS Plus package, including cost and how the subscription is paid (monthly, annually etc) and what perks are included in the subscription. It’s the latter which seems most radical, with the survey suggesting full PS3 games (digital versions of retail Blu-ray titles) and Call of Duty Elite membership possibilities.
On the survey, a Sony spokesperson told IGN: “We have nothing specific to announce at this time, but PlayStation Plus continues to delight gamers with free games, huge discounts and exclusive gaming features that can’t be found on other platforms.”
PS Plus already offers good value for money, but the promise of retail games delivered digitally for free could be enough to convince many PS3 gamers to jump onboard with PS Plus. 10 retail quality games per year, even if they are more than one year old, appears well worth the $50-$60 a year subscription price.
