With Sonic Central just concluding it was revealed that Sonic is set to have a collaboration with Lego in Sonic Superstars, which will release later this year. The presentation revealed that SEGA’s Blue Blur is set to receive a complete Lego skin makeover. Alongside this, players who preorder the physical edition of Sonic Superstars will also have access to a Lego Eggman skin.

Both of these skins are optional for the game but they’ll definitely add a little more flair to each playthrough. As outlined, the Eggman skin can only be obtained by pre-ordering the physical edition of Sonic Superstars. There hasn’t been any news yet to confirm if you can acquire this skin any other way.

Sonic Superstars is set to bring “classic feels” with “new thrills,” as you’ll venture through the mystical Northstar Island in the traditional fast-paced 2D platforming action Sonic is known for. There’s also a diverse cast of beloved characters you’ll be able to play as including Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose.

Harnessing the power of the Chaos Emeralds you’ll be able to multiply, swim up waterfalls, change form and much more that is set to be revealed later down the line. If you’ve got a number of Sonic enthusiast friends too you’ll be able to play through the full campaign with up to three other players.

The trailer’s description reads: “Get ready to block off your calendars – LEGO Sonic is coming to Sonic Superstars! Pre-order Sonic Superstars now for an exclusive LEGO Eggman character skin: https://sonicsuperstars.com.” Sonic Superstars is set to release in Fall 2023 and is making its way to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC, via the Epic Games Store and Steam.

In other Sonic and Lego-related news, Lego revealed four new Sonic the Hedgehog sets coming in August. Alongside this, Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff series ‘Knuckles’ announces cast starring Idris Elba and Kid Cudi.
