Sega has officially announced that Sonic Mania will be out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, on August 15. This confirms what was spotted on the game’s Steam page at the tail-end of last week.

Sonic Mania will retail at £14.99/$19.99/€19.99, but if you get your pre-order in now, you can get a 10% discount on the modern day Mega Drive title.

Originally slated for a March release but delayed to allow for more development time, Sonic Mania is the brainchild of PagodaWest Games and Headcannon who have ported classic Hedgehog games to various platforms. It will see Sonic, as well as series stalwarts Knuckles and Tails, race across a mix of old and new levels, with none of that pesky 3D carry-on that old school Sonic fans generally don’t get on with.
