Black Box, an EA studio, has announced that Skate 2, the sequel to the innovative and genre changing original game, will be released in North America on January 21, 2009 and worldwide on January 23, 2009.

Before then fans will be able to access a new Graphics Creator tool over at the official Skate website from next month. Using this tool it will be possible to create custom graphics for their in-game hats, decks and shirts with an “unrivalled” level of individuality.

North American gamers can also take advantage of a pre-order bonus to get hold of an exclusive code to unlock the Throwback Pack, a special upgrade pack that includes retro clothing, accessories and gestures.

In Skate 2 the city of New San Vanelona has been rebuilt after an unspeakable disaster. Players are tasked to rebuild their career and with the ability to get off-board and move objects around can create their own epic spots and challenges.

Skate 2 is scheduled for release across Europe for Xbox 360 and PS3 on January 23, 2009.
