The newly released Silent Hill f celebrates over one million copies sold already, and Konami claims that it is selling at a “faster pace in various regions” compared to the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Silent Hill f is a fantastic instalment, and in our review we praised it as a hair-rising return to form for the J-horror juggernaut. Our glowing sentiment was shared by many as Silent Hill f is the best new installment in over two-decades as cemented by Metacritic. The game is absolutely phenomenal, and it’s good to hear that its quality is being met with superb sales.

Silent Hill f celebrates over one million copies sold in just three days

As shared by developer NeoBards Entertainment on X, “Silent Hill f has sold over one million copies worldwide in just 3 days”. This includes both physical and digital sales across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, Epic Games store, and Microsoft Windows.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake sold over one million copies rapidly quick, too. It was released on October 7th, and the silenthill_JP account shared that the “cumulative worldwide shipment volume exceeded 1 million copies… As of October 11, 2024, based on our research” combining “physical edition shipments and digital edition sales” across PS5 and Steam.

On Konami’s Japanese press release, their announcement is translated as saying, “The remake of SILENT HILL 2, which was released last year, exceeded 1 million units shipped worldwide in about a week after its release, and the number of shipments of SILENT HILL f has increased at a faster pace in various regions, including Japan. As the latest work in the series, it has received a great response both domestically and internationally”.

In addition to the above press release, Silent Hill producer, Motoi Okamoto, posted Silent Hill f reached 1 million copies sold in “just two days since its release”. The producer further stated, “Silent Hill 2, released last year, achieved this in four days, so f is selling at a faster pace than the SH2 remake”.

There is the caveat that Silent Hill f is on more platforms at launch than the Silent Hill 2 Remake which still isn’t on Xbox, but it’s still brilliant news how well the game is performing, especially as an entirely original story rather than a remake of one of the most celebrated games of all time.

As for the future of the franchise, fans will be thrilled to know that Bloober Team are officially developing a remake of Silent Hill. We are also still anticipating Silent Hill Townfall although we haven’t seen or heard anything about the game since its reveal in October 2022.

In other Silent Hill f news, the game’s producer originally wanted it set in the IRL Silent Hill location in Japan, and the main actress has discussed the traumatisation of the role and how she felt her “own sanity slipping” during development.
