Sifu developer Sloclap has offered a behind-the-scenes look at the work going into the upcoming brawler’s Kung-Fu combat.

The video introduces Benjamin Colussi, Kung Fu expert and founder of the Lao Wei San – Pak Mei School in Paris. He worked closely with creative director Jordan Layani to craft more than 200 moves for the game’s main character. These included both hand-to-hand moves and ones with weapons.

Colussi & Layani then painstakingly created some of the game’s most elaborate fight scenes in a motion capture studio with a dedicated stunt team. The intention was to make the fights seem as authentic yet impressive looking as possible. This dedication to realism didn’t stop at the combat either.

The team also wanted to make the game world as authentic as possible even down to cultural details like the design of the main character’s Wuguan. They drew on Colussi’s experience training in the Guandong province to ensure even the positioning of decorations and similar details were accurate and correct. The dedication to ensure the Kung Fu experience in Sifu is accurate is very impressive.
