After announcing last month that it’d be attending gamescom 2017, Ys Net has sent out another update to the backers of Shenmue 3 today. As per everything else that’s been announced so far, it’s generally more of an announcement for not much at all. There will not, however, be any playable builds of the game on the show floor (please hold your surprise).

‘We are go for a Shenmue event at the general admission entertainment area! Unfortunately, we will not be doing a large event like showcasing promotional videos or placing playable demos in this venue, but Yu Suzuki will be there and give all of you a big welcome greeting’, said Ys Net in its update. I’m not sure about you, but I immediately had an image of Yu Suzuki milling around the entrance of gamescom, awkwardly inserting himself into conversations and random people’s photos.

Ys Net has said it’ll be there in an official capacity, with some news that will be shared in the business area of the event, which will then be shared with the backers. Yu Suzuki will also take the time to meet and greet fans of the game, and the public in general. More news and details will be confirmed on the Shenmue Kickstarter page closer to the event.
