The team at Flying Wild Hog have dropped a new gameplay trailer for upcoming FPS Shadow Warrior 3 ahead of its launch next week.

The footage offers up just under ten minutes of sword-&-gunplay action, featuring our hero Lo Wang. Wang’s on the hunt for a dragon he inadvertently released at the end of the last game. Naturally, his search leads him to the Dragon’s Nest, which is where this footage picks things up.

Shadow Warrior‘s signature comedy, over the top combat and gore are all present and correct of course. Your katana will play a key role, and you’ll be able to level it up to perform new attacks. Similar to the recent DOOM games, katana kills will also get you ammo for your guns, so it’s worth getting up close and personal with the demons. Similarly, ranged kills will get you extra health that should allow you to go in closer, and thus feed the cycle of carnage between blades and your guns.

This entry also introduces the concept of Gore Weapons. Nearly all enemies in the game can be executed, and doing so earns you one of these Gore Weapons which can then be used against the demonic hordes. On top of all this, a grappling hook will help you reach parts of the arena in style, creating a ballet of destruction in your wake.

The new trailer also comes with the news that the game will be available from launch via the PlayStation Now service. From March 1, subscribers will be able to grab the game at no extra cost, as revealed via the PlayStation Blog. Check out the gameplay trailer below, and Shadow Warrior 3 arrives March 1 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
