There is a new gameplay trailer for Shadow Warrior 3, and it looks fast and chaotic.

Devolver Digital revealed the trailer, as part of the Devolver Digital showcase. Both of id Software’s recent Doom games are a clear influence here.

Check out the trailer:

As you can, some of the enemies flash orange and blue, in similar fashion to the glory kills of Doom. What’s more, check out that grapple-hook, which gives the hero, Lo Wang, a new and whippy way to cause trouble.

The description reads, “Shadow Warrior 3 launches the offbeat first-person shooter series to the next level.” It then describes the game’s “seamless blend of fast-paced gunplay, razor-sharp melee combat, and a spectacular free-running movement system.”

The original Shadow Warrior—which is to say the reboot of Shadow Warrior—was an intriguing shooter. When it landed, in 2013, it seemed to have leapt straight from the nineties, over a gray-brown sea of shooters.

In our review, Tom Orry said, “Shadow Warrior isn’t a classic, but it’s a game that exists in an area that we rarely see these days, and is great fun to mess about with.”

Shadow Warrior 3 is coming out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year. Devolver Digital hasn’t revealed a fixed release date just yet.
