Tomb Raider has reportedly broken the 1 million sales barrier within 48 hours of going on sale.

The franchise’s global brand manager Karl Stewart first dropped hints at the game’s sales figures over Twitter last night, tweeting:

“Wow, 1m gamers playing in less than 48hrs! @tombraider fans, you’re AMAZING Hearing some stores are running low..more copies are on the way!”

Sales figures for Tomb Raider, which went on sale on Tuesday, have yet to be officially revealed by Square Enix.

The publisher announced yesterday that Tomb Raider’s first DLC, the ‘Caves & Cliffs’ multiplayer map pack, is due to launch first on Xbox LIVE later this month.
