Rockstar has released another PS2 classic on PS4.

The Warriors, which launched on PS2 and Xbox back in 2005, can now be downloaded on PS4 for £11.99, and includes support for a 1080p resolution, Remote Play and Trophies. Based on the 1979 movie, The Warriors is a 3D brawler set in New York City that tells the story of a street gang wrongly accused of murder.

“New York, 1979. A battle on the streets,” reads the game’s description. “The armies of the night number 60,000 strong, and tonight they’re all after The Warriors – a street gang wrongly accused of killing a rival gang leader. The Warriors must make their way from one end of New York to their turf on the other side of the city. All that stands between The Warriors and their survival are 20 miles and thousands of street gang members.”

While not as fondly remembered as some of Rockstar’s other PS2 titles, The Warriors received a positive reception from critics upon its release, earning an 84 Metacritic rating.

“The Warriors is an excellent videogame adaptation of a classic movie that actually uses the license to do more than a simple retelling,” Tom said in his 7/10 review all those years ago. “Combat may be simple, but it’s the story and overall authenticity that will keep you hooked.”

To download it you’ll need 3.1GB of storage space.
