Roadtrip adventure Road 96 has had its console release date narrowed down, and will be heading to Xbox and PlayStation on April 14.

The announcement the game would be heading to consoles came last month and followed its PC release back in August. You’re trying to hitchhike your way across the fictional country of Petria to the border to escape an oppressive regime. Along the way, you’ll meet and travel with a unique cast of characters, each with their own side-stories.

Road 96 has proven pretty popular, with the game managing to scoop five awards at the Pégases Awards Show in France. The game picked up gongs for Best Indie Game, Best Narrative Design and Best Sound Design among others. Developer DigixArt’s CEO and Creative Director Yoan Fanise was, as you can imagine, pretty pleased with the win.

“We are so proud to have won these, we were hoping for one; five is unbelievable,” he said. “There is a large audience waiting for innovative experiences nowadays the gaming world has changed drastically over the last years. Road 96 is a collaborative creation, a reflection of the teams diversity and shows that success is not a matter of a project’s size.”

Road 96 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on April 14.
