Publisher Ravenscourt has announced Kona II: Brume. It’s a sequel to 2017’s snowy, Fargo-esque mystery-adventure Kona.

The game is out next year, and it will have you playing as detective Carl Faubert. Faubert was the protagonist of the first game, and the new game has him investigating the Brume—an enigmatic mist. This seems like an odd use of police time, but there are doubtless mysteries afoot!

Check out the trailer below:

The description reads:

“A bizarre mist—the Brume—is disconnecting a rural mining village from its quiet reality and disrupting the balance of nature. But where is it coming from? Kona II: Brume, the upcoming single-player first-person narrative-adventure game and sequel to the celebrated Kona—both developed by Parabole and published by Ravenscourt—will immerse players directly into Detective Carl Faubert’s investigation.”

The game will be set in the ninteen-seventies, in Manastan, Northern Canada. And it will have you exploring a sinister reality, solving puzzles. Now, I don’t know for sure, but this could be the first game to feature a mysterious mist as its subject matter since the days of Silent Hill.

Also. it’s worth noting that the game features a dog. The dog accompanies Faubert, and presumably provides canine moral support. Because it’s a dog and they love doing that.

Kona II: Brume is out in 2023. It’s on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
