3D Realms has announced co-op sci-fi horror FPS Ripout for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
You play as one of the Earth’s last surviving soldiers in 2084 exploring spaceships inhabited by mutated monstrosities. Not only are these horrors a grotesque mixture of man and machine, but they’re also able to reconfigure themselves. They can even attach smaller creatures to themselves to form even deadlier enemies.
Luckily, you won’t have to face these mutants alone. For one, your weapon also happens to be alive. Yup, named a Pet Gun it can also transform and evolve in battle. You’ll choose whether to use it like a blaster or even send it out to flank your enemies. You can also customise Pet Gun and choose between character specialisations to suit your preferred style of play.
On top of that, Ripout will also support co-op, with the game’s difficulty scaling to the number of people in your squad. There’s also procedurally generated missions to keep things fresh. You can check out a trailer for the game below, which definitely gives things a Doom-sort-of vibe.
There’s no specific date just yet, but we’re told Ripout will launch later this year on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
