Ubisoft has released a new trailer for extreme sports title Riders Republic, focusing on customisation options for the game.

You’ll be able to customise your appearance from the off, and can go back and edit at any time. You’ll then get to choose from a range of clothing items that you can mix and match from different outfits. The developers promise you’ll be able to earn the vast majority of these cosmetics by playing the game. This will include items from real world sponsors, such as specific bikes and other gear from weekly challenges.

While playing, you’ll also earn a currency known as Bucks. These can be spent in the in-game shop for items from a Collection of items. The shop will be restocked with all-new items and collections on a regular basis. There’s also going to be a few items only available via Republic Coins, which will be a hard currency in the game.

Gear meanwhile will have its own unique performance statistics and a visual appearances to fit your playstyle. Crucially equipment can only be unlocked through playing the game, so there won’t be any pay-to-win for stat boosts here.

The trailer comes as the game kicks off its closed beta, announced a few weeks ago. From today until August 25, those who have signed up for the beta can get a sample of the game right now. If you’ve not signed up yet, you can still do so over on the game’s official website.

Riders Republic is currently set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia and PC on October 28.
