Pre-orders for Sony’s Gran Turismo 5 are like nothing seen before, online video games retailer ShopTo.net has told MCV.
“We’ve never seen anything like this before,” ShopTo marketing manager Philip Driver stated. “As soon as the new release date was announced the sales just went through the roof.
“This is a game that most PS3 owners have been waiting a long time for. Luckily we have prepared well and will be able to get GT5 to everyone that orders for release day.”
The retailer predicts that GT5 will finish 2010 as the PS3’s biggest-selling game.
Gran Turismo 5 will be released November 24, 2010.
Fans have been desperate for the new instalment in the Gran Turismo franchise since the launch of the PS3 back in November 2006, and anticipation for the title has grown with each delay.
Ending 2010 as the best-selling game on PS3 won’t be easy, though, with Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops having sold approximately 840,000 units on PS3 during the launch week in the UK.
