Yesterday we brought you news of Resident Evil Zero being ported to the Wii. According to an article in Japanese magazine Famitsu, the original GameCube game would arrive on the Wii in bare bones form, with Wii Remote controls being the only real addition.

European gamers wondering when we’re likely to see the game on these shores might be out of luck. In a post on the Capcom Unity website, Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, said: “Yes, this title exists… for Japan. There are no plans for a Western release for the title at this time.”

So, there you have it. For the time being at least, Resident Evil Zero is for Japan only.

Would you have bought a simple port of the game for Wii had it been released in Europe? Let us know in the comments below.
