Capcom has revealed new screenshots of its upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2, giving us our first proper glimpse at heroine Claire Redfield in action.

The younger Redfield sibling needs no introduction for long time fans of Capcom's zombie head-stomping series, and returns here with her iconic biker clobber. She looks a bit different as you'd expect, with her design having been tweaked while still remaining unmistakably biker chick circa '98.

As with the original Resi 2, Claire's in town to look for her missing brother Chris, a former member of S.T.A.R.S. and hero of the first Resident Evil.

She's joined in her quest by a young girl, who I won't spoil here in case you've never played the 1998 survival horror classic. The duo have their work cut out for them though, facing off against a lumbering beast of a man (again, no spoilers here) wielding a massive pipe.

Resident Evil 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 25, 2019. If you fancy splashing out on the game, then check out the Collector's Edition here.

Capcom is sprucing up a lot of the original Resi 2 with this full revamp, eschewing the classic fixed camera in favour of a Resi 4-style over-the-shoulder perspective.
