Redfall is a vampire-infested open-world co-op shooter, made by Arkane Austin, and it’s out in Summer, 2022.

During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, we got a trailer for Redfall, which maybe looks a bit like World War Z with vampires. In a good way.

Check out the trailer:

The description reads:

“The quaint island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the island off from the outside world. Trapped with a handful of survivors against diabolical enemies threatening to bleed the town dry, choose your hero from a diverse roster, grouping up with others to create the perfect team of vampire slayers.”

It then reveals that Redfall is, in fact, an open-world game. “Redfall is an open-world co-op FPS being developed by Arkane Austin.” This is the first brand-new IP to come from Arkane since its acquisition, along with the rest of Bethesda, by Microsoft.

It’s also notable for containing vampires, who are always notable when they turn up in games. It’s a slightly anemic genre; the last good vampire game was Vampyr, in 2018.

Redfall is also a next-gen game. It’ launching exclusively on Xbox Series X / S and PC in Summer, 2022.
