Take-Two has announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped 17 million copies worldwide since its launch on October 26 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Even though this figure represents the number of units shipped to retailers, rather than copies in the hands of consumers, it's still an impressive figure seeing as how it hasn't even been out for two weeks.

The news comes alongside an update for GTA 5, with the crime opus having now shipped an earth-shattering 100 million copies globally.

As for Red Dead 2, we already knew that the Wild West prequel had got off to a massive start. It posted the second best entertainment launch of all time, smashed records across PlayStation Network, and pulled in $725 million in its opening weekend. Blimey.
