A group of former CD Projekt Red developers have announced they’ve formed a new studio named Rebel Wolves.

Based in Poland, the studio is headed up by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. He was the former Game Director on The Witcher 3 and a secondary game director on Cyberpunk 2077. The studio claims that it has aspirations of “breaking away from the weight of AAA development studios” and “approaching every goal as a team”.

A few other The Witcher veterans are on the team, including design director Daniel Sadowski and main writer Jakub Szamałek. There’s also Art Director Bartłomiej Gawel and Animation Director Tamara Zarada, all of whom have worked on one or multiple The Witcher games.

The new team’s official website provides us with an M.O. “We’re industry veterans, but we’re hungry for more. We want to create amazing virtual worlds, filled to the brim with powerful emotions and unique experiences. Most of all, we want to share our boundless passion for video games. We know what players love, because we’re players ourselves.”

The new studio has already set eyes on its first project too. It’ll be a “AAA story-driven dark fantasy RPG saga” for PCs and next generation consoles. It’ll run on the Unreal 5 engine, and it’ll be part of a planned saga. However, any further details it’s keeping under its hat for now.
