A leaked trailer for the rumoured Rayman Origins sequel, Rayman Legends, has not only confirmed the existence of the game, but also revealed Wii U functionality.

Earlier this year Nintendo confirmed that the Wii U tablet controller would support NFC tech, allowing figures and cards to be released, containing data which could be loaded into games.

It appears that Ubisoft’s Rayman Legends is making use of this functionality, with items placed onto the tablet being electronically read and loaded into the game. The video shows players loading a heart, whilst a Rabbid and Ezio from Assassin’s Creed are also teased.

The tablet controller is also shown to function as an independent screen, allowing for touch control play.

Various multiplayer modes and new playable characters are also revealed for the platformer.
