Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, the latest title in the 25 million-selling franchise, will be released in 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, publisher Ubisoft has announced.

In development at Ubisoft Montreal with the support of Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Red Storm, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots features a single-player storyline that promises to capture the reality of modern-day terrorism, experienced from the perspective of multiple characters.

“Terrorism has evolved, and so has Rainbow 6. In Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, all the team play, tactics, and realism that fans of the series love have been coupled with an exciting new narrative direction,” said David Sears, creative director at Ubisoft. “This adds an unprecedented level of humanity that will make Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots an extremely tense and immersive experience.”

In RB6 Patriots Team Rainbow faces a new threat in the form of the True Patriots, a revolutionary group which claims the American government is irrevocably corrupted by greedy politicians and corporate special interests. The True Patriots will do whatever it takes to reclaim their country.

Rainbow 6 Patriots will also feature a variety of co-op and multi-player experiences, with players rewarded for working as a team – aided by new features which enhance communication and tactical execution between teammates.
