Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break will no longer release in 2015, Microsoft has announced.

The Remedy developed title had been due to make up part of the Xbox One’s autumn/winter line-up, alongside Halo 5, Forza Motorsport 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

“We thank our fans for their patience, and want them to know that the team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy.

Quantum Break is an action game and a live action show, with both shipping together in 2016. The two parts of the experience are linked in numerous ways, with players affecting scenarios with their choices.

It remains to be seen whether another title will fill the gap left by Quantum Break, although Microsoft is expected to make numerous announcements at E3 in June.
