Despite a general lack of interest in the PVR PS2 hybrid, the PSX, Sony has announced two new models which will feature PSP connectivity.

The new models revealed on the PlayStation Japan website are the DESR-5700 and DESR-7700, which reportedly allow video to be transferred from the PSX to the PSP’s memory stick. This would allow easy transfer of recorded programs onto the handheld wonder. While making the PSX sound like a more appealing machine with its link to the PSP it seems like nothing more than a cheap add-on in a last attempt to save the dying machine. However, this could be just what the system needed.
