SEGA has announced a new control method for Virtua Tennis 3 for the PS3. By enabling a motion sensing option in the game’s menu, players will be able to control the player simply by tilting the pad in a particular direction.

It sounds perfectly straightforward; tilt the controller forwards to move forward, tilt back to move back, tilt left to move left, and tilt right o move right. You can also pull off shots using tilt: swinging the controller up quickly performs a lob, swinging the controller down quickly performs a slice, and swinging the controller horizontally plays a shot with top spin.

Virtua Tennis 3 is scheduled for release in the spring.
