At an event for LucasArts’ Fracture last week it didn’t slip anyone’s attention that the game was only playable on Xbox 360, but according to the game’s assistant producer Jeffrey Gullett this wasn’t to do with the PS3 game lagging behind in development.

Speaking about initial development of Fracture on PS3 Gullett said: “It was one of those things that was really sort of challenging and scary at first,” but he want on to say that the team has “gotten over most of the major hurdles and now we’ve had them running side by side simultaneously, and they look flawless.”

So, will gamers be able to spot one game as the superior version? According to Jeffrey we won’t.

“You can’t even tell the difference,” he said. “We’ve managed to pretty much get everything that we’ve put into the 360 version in the PS3 as well.”

It seems memory is to blame for the problems the team faced at the start of development on PS3, with Gullett stating that “the big thing with the PS3 that I think all the developers are struggling with is when it comes to memory”.

To see for yourself if both versions look the same you’ll have to wait for the game to hit stores in September/October this year, or play the demo due for release around August.
