Sierra has announced the launch of an official website for upcoming open world action game Prototype.

www.prototypegame.com contains a DNA Helix with secret back story details, called the Web of Intrigue, but you’ll only be able to access them by inputting a series of code sequences hidden within Prototype emails and print, online and TV media.

Prototype was in the news recently when executive producer Tim Bennison revealed developer Radical Entertainment had dropped multiplayer from the game, stating: “we won’t be able to pull it off with the same level of quality and polish that we’re aiming for with the original single player story.”

You can check out all the available videos and screens, as well as a first-look preview, over at our Prototype game page.

Prototype is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC some time in Fall 2008.
