The first trailer for Project Resistance has been revealed, and confirmed that the next game will pit four players against the horde.

Project Resistance has been waiting in the wings for some time now. We first received word of it when Capcom invited playtesters in Japan and in the U.S. to experience an ‘in-development project’ in September. Then, an official teaser website revealed that Tokyo Game Show attendees would be able to get hands on with Project Resistance, but a trailer would launch today for the poor, unfortunate souls that aren’t at the expo.

In the trailer, four characters appear to be garbed in ‘90s apparel that Urban Outfitters would covet and charge far too much for, even with the blood and ooze stains. They’re armed to the teeth, each with their own weapon, as they are assailed by waves of infected. But someone seems to be pulling the strings, from a command centre with countless creatively cruel switches. And in a chilling conclusion, Mr X ominously appears to face off with the four survivors.

As heart-pounding and Licker-exploding as the trailer was, it still doesn’t give us a lot to go off of. Capcom calls Project Resistance, ‘a brand-new team-based survival horror experience’, but what platforms it will release for and whether cross play would be a possibility is unknown.

Luckily, we won’t be waiting long for an update; more Project Resistance information will be shared during the Tokyo Game Show on September 11. Watch the trailer below.
