Yesterday, Capcom Division 1 sent a recruitment email to members of the Resident Evil Ambassador programme in Japan for game testers to come and play an undisclosed title.

As reported by Biohaze, the recruits would test the in-development project in Shinjuku, Tokyo, on September 8 or 9. All the applicants need is to be a member of this Ambassador programme and to be familiar with the Resident Evil series. I’m not sure why that is qualified separately, because I would assume that as an Ambassador you are already a fan of the enduring horror series. Perhaps this is to sort the wheat from the chaff, or maybe they’ve been plagued with confused people spontaneously signing up thinking its a training scheme for wannabe exorcists.

Resident Evil has had a great year, with a staggering three million copies of the Resident Evil 2 remake sold at launch, so it makes sense that Capcom would want to coast the wave rather than rest on their laurels. This untitled project could be a Resident Evil 3 remakeCapcom did cheekily tease something a few months ago – or maybe we’re finally going to hear something on Resident Evil 8.
