Private Division, a publisher affiliated with Take-Two Interactive, has announced a partnership with Game Freak as the Japanese video game developer is reportedly in the process of making a “new action-adventure IP.” Although a release date for this exciting creation is yet to be disclosed, both parties have decided to reveal the first piece of concept art for the game along with its temporary codename, Project Bloom.
Game Freak director Kota Furushima mentioned in the announcement that the upcoming title would be “bold and tonally different” from their prior work, meaning fans of the pocket monsters franchise will have to wait a little longer for a new installment. He would go on to note that Private Division was the publisher they wanted to work with on the new game because of their “track record and global expertise.”
Private Division head and Take-Two Interactive chief strategy officer Michael Worosz then went on to add that they’re “ready to help Game Freak unleash their potential.” “We’re honored to be the first Western publisher to work alongside this exceptionally talented and proven team to bring a bold new IP to market,” he continued.
As mentioned before, Project Bloom is still in early development and currently does not have a specified release date yet. However, both parties do expect it to launch at some point in 2026 and both Game Freak and Private Division are apparently looking forward “to sharing more details about this game in the future.”
Based on the concept art provided through the official announcement, it seems that the upcoming game is going to be an open world entry that features dystopian themes. Additionally, Game Freak has often been known for creating immersive worlds with plenty of secrets to unlock and discover, so this is a game that video game fans will undoubtedly be looking forward to.
