As announced by the game’s official X account, the Pragmata demo, previously exclusive to Steam, is launching today on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. The demo offers a great opportunity to experience part of the game ahead of its highly anticipated April 24 release date.

The demo lets you sample the game’s “tactile combat system that fully engages both sides of your brain,” while also allowing you to “experience what it’s like to traverse the lunar research station”.

Capcom has not announced a specific release time for the demo beyond “today,” but you should be able to find it on the PlayStation Store for PS5, the Nintendo eShop for Switch 2, and the Microsoft Store for Xbox Series X/S by simply searching Pragmata.

The game was first announced in June 2020, making its release a long time coming. After an initial delay, Pragmata was postponed again in 2023 with plans to launch in 2024, and it was then delayed once more in 2025, with Capcom now finally committed to a 2026 release.

Pragmata is an entirely new IP from Capcom, the studio behind the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter franchises. It is a third-person, single-player sci-fi experience in which you control protagonist Hugh Williams, while accompanied by a curious and energetic android girl named Diana.

Although you primarily control Hugh, both characters are also managed simultaneously. Hugh and Diana each have unique abilities, and Capcom has emphasized that hacking is the key to success, rather than the usual brute force during combat.

Before Pragmata arrives in April, you will be able to play Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem when it launches on February 27. Early previews for Resident Evil Requiem on Nintendo Switch 2 have been extremely positive, suggesting Pragmata will also perform well when it launches day one on Nintendo’s platform.
