Xbox has announced that its six-part docuseries Power On: The Story of Xbox is now available on most video platforms.

As detailed by the Xbox Wire, the documentary films have been commissioned as part of Xbox’s 20th anniversary celebrations. Each episode takes a look behind the scenes of the history of Microsoft’s adventure into the console world.

There’s six episodes in this warts-and-all series, each around forty minutes long. The first chapter, The Renegades, even covers Microsoft’s disastrous attempt to acquire Nintendo in 2000. Other tricky topics covered include the infamous Red Ring of Death incident that plagued the Xbox 360.

The series is available in 30 different languages, and there’s full audio descriptions and subtitles in English for those who need it. You can also check out a fascinating behind the scenes blog detailing the making of the documentary over on the Microsoft Stories website.

You can watch Power On: The Story of Xbox on IMDBtv, Redbox, Roku, Microsoft Movies & TV and, of course, YouTube. Xbox is also hosting a special Twitch broadcast of all six episodes on Thursday, December 16 at 6pm UK time.
