Over 10 million units of Pokemon Sun and Moon have already been shipped, The Pokemon Company has announced, marking a 150% increase over predecessors Pokemon X and Y.

The record-breaking shipment comes ahead of the games’ UK launch next week, where they’re due to go on sale on Wednesday, November 23. The games launch in other parts of the world today.

The figure also makes Pokemon Sun and Moon the highest shipped title at launch in Nintendo 3DS history.

Earlier today it was reported that a Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Sun and Moon, reportedly titled ‘Pokemon Stars’, is due to release in late 2017. The game is rumoured to include new features over the 3DS versions, potentially including additional Pokemon.

Back in May, The Pokemon Company revealed that software sales for the Pokemon franchise had reached over 280m.
