Pokémon Scarlet and its twin release Pokémon Violet are coming out on November 18th, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch.

Check out the new trailer below:

The new games will boast four-player co-op, and they will be based in a new region, of which we still don’t know the name.

We also now know some of the new monsters: Smoliv, Pawmi, and, by far the most important, Lechonk. The latter is a kind of pig, and so it’s clear that these two games will likely achieve game-of-the-year status immediately upon release.

In a statement, The Pokémon Company said:

“Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet allow multiplayer gameplay with up to four players. Along with series staples, such as trading and battling Pokémon, you will be able to explore the various locations of the region in these games with other players. You can discover new Pokémon and explore unfamiliar areas with your friends and family, opening the door to an adventure more precious and fun than ever!”

So there you have it. Roll on November 18th for the release of Lechonk.

In other recent Pokénews, Junichi Masuda left Game Freak to join The Pokémon Company. Masuda was a key figure in the creation of the series.
