Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl have received their latest patch, allowing players access to the Global Wonder Station.

As spotted by Serebii.net, the game’s latest update that dropped last night finally opened the GWS. For those not in the know, the building allows players to trade Pokémon with strangers via the internet. The GWS building has been in the game since launch back in November. However, players trying to access it were told that it wasn’t ready yet by an NPC, until now.

Previously, players had to trade a special code to initiate trades with other players not on their friends list via the Global Union Room. This method would mean finding another player outside of the game to trade with first. Now, players just need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to trade for the specific Pokémon they require.

The latest patch also offers players a chance to encounter a couple of Legendary Pokémon in their game. As detailed here, players with a Pokémon Legends: Arceus save file with the story missions completed can find a new Azure Flute item in their bedroom. Using this will allow them to battle and capture Arceus from Mount Coronet if they have entered the Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, players who get the Member Card item via the Mystery Gift function can also encounter Arceus’ counterpart, Darkrai. Once more, they’ll have to have the National Pokédex and entered the Hall of Fame, but then players can travel to Newmoon Island and catch the mythical beast.

The 1.3.0 patch for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is available to download now on the Nintendo Switch. If you’ve not read our review of the game yet, you can check that out over here.
