PlayStation has offered up official images of the PlayStation VR2 headset and the final design of the accompanying Sense controllers.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, senior vice president of Platform Experience Hideaki Nishino guides us through the headset’s new features. The team has gone for a unified circular orb design across both headset and controllers. Naturally, the system’s final look is going for a white finish to match the PlayStation 5 itself.

Nishino says that comfort was a big focus for the new headset, taking feedback from the PSVR headset for PlayStation 4. A lot of that ergonomic feedback, they claim, was positive, so many concepts have been retained. These include an adjustable scope, and keeping the headphone jack in the same location as the previous headset.

There’s some new features though, including a lens adjustment dial. As the name implies, this will allow players to tweak the distance between their lenses and their eyes. The headset’s lost some weight too, to make it feel lighter when wearing it for longer periods. The hardware team has also included a new vent, to allow both the headset and your head to feel a little cooler while playing. As a bonus, this should also help prevent the dreaded lens fog from becoming an issue.

There’s still no date for the PlayStation VR2 headset and Sense controllers just yet, but expect more in the coming months. Perhaps we’ll hear more about a PSVR2 price and some other games joining Horizon Call of the Mountain later this summer? Stay tuned to find out.
