A full pre-release version of Blizzard’s cancelled point-and-click adventure game Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans has surface online, giving Warcraft fans a chance to experience the game which was cancelled back in 1998.
You’ll find the download here, though be quick as we’ve no idea how long the file will remain online.
In the near-finished version of the game – complete with in-game cinematics and voice acting – players must help Thrall on his adventure which begins by escaping a prison cell.
Back in 2008, 10 years after the game was cancelled, Blizzard offered this comment on the game.
“The decision centred around the level of value that we want to give our customers. In essence, it was a case of stepping up and really proving to ourselves and gamers that we will not sell out on the quality of our games.”
At the time of the cancellation Monkey Island 3 had already shown gamers what was possible with the traditional animated point-and-click, and the stunning 3D adventure Grim Fandangdo had been revealed.
