Microsoft has announced that shoot-'n-loot sequel Destiny 2 is available free to play on Xbox One for Gold members for the remainder of this week.

Bungie's shared-world juggernaut will be available to take for a spin from 5pm BST today until Sunday at 7.50am BST.

As well as being able to play Destiny 2 without spending a penny, gamers can also snap up the full game for 67% off the usual asking price. On the other hand, if you fancy taking a deep dive into the war between Guardians and aliens-that-need-shooting-in-the-face, you can take advantage of 35% off the Destiny 2 and Expansion Pass bundle.

Any progress you make in Destiny 2's free trial will transferred over to the full game if you decide to purchase it.

This week has been pretty major for Destiny 2 fans, with Bungie announcing plans for Year 2 of the intergalactic shooter, which kicks off with the new Forsaken expansion. It's also selling an Annual Pass that will include three major content drops between winter this year and summer 2019.

Don't listen to the haters on Destiny 2; it's a cracking shooter despite the grind, something which Alice was only too happy to point out in her review.
