Namco has announced that Pac’N Roll will ship exclusively for the Nintendo DS this summer. Using the DS’s touch screen, Pac’N Roll lets games take control of the spherical man and roll him around various 3D environments. Pac-Man must roll his way through a world where everyone has been made spherical, confronting ghosts on the way and hopefully restoring Pac-World to its normal state. Early screenshots suggest that the game will play in a similar way to Super Monkey Ball.

“‘Pac’N Roll’ utilizes the unique capabilities of the Nintendo DS to introduce an innovative and intuitive new control scheme,” said Yoshi Niki, Business Director with Namco Hometek Inc. “Players are sure to enjoy Pac-Man’s latest adventure, and delight at the ease and simplicity of controlling him throughout the game.”

Pac’N Roll will also include the original Pac-Man arcade game and allow up to two players to play together and compete for the highest score. Check out the media section for the latest screenshots.
