Bandai Namco has shown off gameplay of Pac-Man World Re-Pac, the upcoming remake of the celebrated PlayStation title.
Check out the gameplay footage below, which featured as part of Anime Expo 2022:
The gameplay shows off the Toc-Man and Anubis boss fights, along with a number of the game’s environments. You can also check out Mega Pac-Man mode, in which the Man himself morphs into a large metal wrecking ball. And he looks mean when he does it.
During the clip, the host talks about improvements that Bandai Namco will make on the game:
“Maybe sometimes Pac-Man would unfairly fall off of ledges. We’re fixing that.”
The publisher announced Pac-Man World Re-Pac just last week. The original came out on the PlayStation in 1999. And it was a celebrated release. The plot sees the yellow maniac attempting to rescue his friends. Some dastardly entity has kidnapped them, and is holding them on Ghost Island. Which, if you’re Pac-Man is either a scary place to be or a kind of all-you-can-waka–waka buffet.
Check out the game’s announcement trailer below:
The description reads:
“It’s a classic 3D platformer experience for a new generation! Guide PAC-MAN through a world of adventure as he tries to save his family from Ghost Island! Coming to PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch on August 26, 2022!”
