Blizzard has published an FAQ on what potential players of the Overwatch 2 PvP beta can expect when it kicks off later today.

The first wave of invites will be going out at around 7pm UK time (11am PT) this evening. The lucky participants should receive a welcome email telling them how to get access to the beta build. Blizzard says that all those selected initially should get in on the first day. However, they may extend invitations to more players at later points in the test.

This first beta will be available to those in North America, Europe, Latin America/Brazil, Korea, Japan, Australia/New Zealand, Taiwan and Southeast Asia on PC. Blizzard does add that more tests are planned to include other formats too. Previously, Blizzard said that players will require Overwatch 1 to play the beta. However, those invited who don’t own the first game can now get a free trial for the beta duration.

In addition, Blizzard has now revealed more ways for players to get into the beta. On April 27, specific streamers will be broadcasting their gameplay on Twitch. By watching these streamers for a minimum of four hours, potential players can earn themselves entry into the beta via the Twitch Drops campaign. You can check out a full list of these streamers here.

The Overwatch 2 PvP beta will run from today, April 26 through until May 17. Players of the beta will be able to try out new hero Sojourn, and you can check out her character gameplay trailer for yourself down below.
