Blizzard has dropped the first character trailer for Sojorn, the first new hero debuting in upcoming sequel Overwatch 2.
It turns out that Sojorn is a former captain of the Canadian special forces. In universe, she teamed up with the Overwatch during the events of the Omnic Crisis. It was during this time she fought alongside Jack, also known as Soldier 76. Upon the conclusion of the war, Soldier 76 reached out to Sojorn to join the Overwatch squad proper. It seems it took a few extra years, but she’s finally answered the call.
Players will be able to get their first hands on with Sojorn during the upcoming Overwatch 2 PvP beta. As detailed last month, said beta will take place at the end of April and will also allow potential players to try out the new 5v5 team structure. They’ll also get to play on four new maps and try out the brand new mode named Push.
Blizzard recently announced that it was changing how it would be delivering Overwatch 2, “decoupling” the PvP side from the promised PvE story mode. The idea is to get the game into players’ hands sooner, while the team continue to work on the PvE in the background. The Overwatch 2 PvP beta kicks off on April 26 on PC. You can sign up here if you’d like to be considered for selection.
