Overwatch 2 has quickly become one of the most popular team-based FPS titles since its initial release last October 2022. Compared to the initial 2016 title, various changes have already been introduced to this latest installment.

Now, it seems that another update may soon be arriving based on a post from OW2’s game director, Aaron Keller. Keller had the following to say in his December 12 statement: “The team is looking at potential changes to Sojourn, Doomfist, Ramattra, Roadhog, and Tracer with the planned balance changes coming later this week.”

This statement was apparently sent in addition to multiple posts from Jon Spector, the Overwatch Commercial Leader & VP at Blizzard. Spector’s posts mainly addressed their approach when it came to providing patches and timelines. This explanation, in turn, arose due to an issue regarding a Shambali Monastery collision exploit that has since been fixed.

According to the information disclosed by Spector, the hotfix that they used to address the Shambali collision issue will also be used to make the quick hero balance changes that Keller is referring to. These updates will also apparently be based on an early read of Season 2 hero performance.

Apparently, these tools that their team is able to use now wasn’t previously available during the game’s launch. Unfortunately, the absence of their hotfix system caused balance change and bug fix processes to drag out. Now that it’s functional again, it will seemingly allow them to work on these small changes more quickly.

At the time of writing, Blizzard and Overwatch 2 are yet to provide official details regarding these changes. However, we will continue to provide updates as soon as we’ve received more information.
