With Brigitte becoming a popular option for support players in Overwatch 2, some players are asking for a better quality-of-life experience when using her Ultimate. Players have noted that it would be a great addition to the game if there was an on-screen timer for Brigitte’s Inspire Ultimate.
Taking to the Overwatch Reddit, user fleebooskee posted, “It would be great if you could visually see on-screen a timer for Bridgette ‘Inspire.'” Going into further detail within the post they noted that they know the Ultimate lasts a total of six seconds, but they think “something visually on-screen to show this timer counting down would be amazing.” The reason for this request was because “not only is it useful to make sure that you are constantly trying to proc Inspire when it’s about to expire but it’s also super motivating to see.”
Another user chimed in adding that they’d love to see the addition of an icon for players being healed by Inspire and pointed to the fact that another support, Zenyatta, has this feature already when he is using his healing orb on another teammate.
User Mad_Malvolio noted that a simple solution to this problem would be “for Brig to have a circle or bar above their weapon icon that indicates when inspire is up, and can deplete as it times out.” This addition they say would be similar to Reinhardt’s Firestrike Indicator except in reverse. They continued by concluding that, “this would be an effective way of showing the timer for inspire, without being too visually obtrusive.”
Another user by the name of ShedPH93 even went as far as to design a potential UI for indicating the health of players under Inspire. In the post, they show off a number of different heal states the UI would convey to the Brigitte player using discrete visual queues under the player’s reticle.
Whether these implementations will be added is yet to be seen. However, given how small of a visual change this is it’d be great to see more visual representation put towards Brigitte’s Ultimate.
Speaking of changes to Overwatch 2, players have been frustrated after Cassidy receives a powerful buff. Alongside this, Blizzard has also removed two maps from the game following a game-breaking bug.
