Overkill’s The Walking Dead reveals new info including first playable character

After a couple of slipped release dates, Overkill has finally started detailing what to expect on its take on Robert Kirkman’s zombie world starting with a new character trailer for Overkill’s The Walking Dead over the weekend.

The trailer introduces us to Aiden, one of the four player characters you’ll be taking control of in the co-operative action shooter. Each playable character is promised to have their own special abilities, skill trees, squad roles and play styles. There’ll be melee and gun-based combat, and it’ll be set in Washington DC in the franchise’s comic book universe rather than the television one. 

And maybe it’s just the red hair and freckles, but that second character teased in the artwork at the top reminds us a lot of Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy, don’t you think?

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in ‘Fall 2018’.
