Bigben Games has released a new gameplay trailer for Outcast: Second Contact, which focuses on exploring the game world. Second Contact is a remake of the well-received 1999, 3D open world action-adventure game. Second Contact is due to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in October.

The gameplay trailer gives us our first look at Second Contact, focusing predominantly on the exploration aspects of the game, as well as the different regions players can explore. Players will get to travel through the open world of Adelpha, which is the homeland of the ancient alien civilisation the Talans, who are essentially an alien derivative of the Mayans, with region travelling portals.

Players take on the role of Cutter Slade, an elite soldier who’s been separated from the scientists he’d been escorting to Adelpha, which exists in a parallel universe. The scientists have been tasked with finding a solution to a black hole that threatens to destroy earth. Upon reaching the planet, Slade, who was separated from the scientists on the journey to Adelpha, is hailed by the natives as their messiah, the Ulukai. It’s up to the player to find the scientists, find what’s causing the black hole, and close it once and for all.

Outcast: Second Contact is due out in October for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
