What sets Rockstar’s titles like GTA 5 apart from other video games is an attention to detail simply not seen elsewhere, Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies has claimed.

“That last five to ten per cent of work on the game makes a huge difference,” Benzies told Develop magazine. “This level of perfection is not seen or understood in the majority of the industry.

Benzies added: “We can all make a car drive down a street in a game, but can you do it in style? Everyone’s got characters that are walking around, but can they walk?”

GTA 5 is out now for Xbox 360 and PS3.

It’s certainly hard to imagine a game like GTA 5 coming from any developer but Rockstar, where the small details really do matter.
